Zen was commenting on the level of service he receives from the VictualNet support team during a customer satisfaction interview I was conducting when he dropped that thought bomb.  He went on to explain...

"The support team is second to none, they are always available, either via phone or email, they work to your schedule and are extremely knowledgeable about the product and industry, which is key, when a company knows the intricacies of the industry they can offer you an experienced point of view and potential solutions to conditions that might occur.

I'll say 'I have this problem, what can I do to overcome and fix it' and they have insight from working with other companies who have tackled the same problem in the past that they can share.  The first hand experience I see you guys offer is invaluable, especially to a someone like me who is looking to grow his business."

Austin Foodmaster is a fast growing full service food distributor operating in Austin, Texa providing area restaurants with everything from fresh meats to dried mushrooms to napkins.  As Zen worked to grow his customer base and expand his product line even further he started noticing some problems.

"My sales and warehouse staff would come in two hours early to get the orders written and picked for deliveries, and every time I added a customer or a product I had to keep asking them to come in earlier and earlier.  If I grew my business the way I wanted to I would run out of hours in the day.

With VictualNet I cut that time down to half an hour, now the only thing I need to grow my business is more trucks.  Actually I ordered a new delivery truck the same day I ordered VictualNet, I had VictualNet up and running in two weeks, still waiting on the truck to arrive."

After a bit of a laugh I asked Zen to expand on that point a bit.  He had said a little earlier "When I was looking for a product I wanted Easy to use and Not too Complicated." and I wanted to know how we measured up.

"Training to use the system required minimal time, you can go through the initial order screen in 5-10 minutes of training.  After that it's just some practice to get really quick.  We went from buying the system to fully up and running in a few weeks, I think we could have done it in a few days if I had dedicated more time to it.

The Order Screen has everything that a salesperson needs to take an order displayed right there on the screen, it's a no-brainer for them to enter an order.  A salesperson who has never worked at my company before could be taking orders confidently the first day."

VictualNet's Ease of use might have caught Zen's attention early on but it was the low start up costs and  scalability of the application that sealed the deal and brought up the value to the point that Zen said "Compared to all the solutions available out there.  Bang for the buck and start-up costs.  VictualNet is in a class of it's own."  Zen then shared his vision of his company's future with VictualNet.

"When I saw all the other aspects that were already included in the software, I can see when I grow bigger and bigger the software is already there.  I have one tool that can carry me forward however large I grow.  I don't need an IT staff, I don't need servers, I don't need to maintain anything, the only thing I have to do is work, so the only thing limiting how far I go is me.

This is enterprise class software, almost too cheap to be real.  When I first saw how inexpensive it was I kept looking for the 'gotcha'...you know the thing the software doesn't do that you have to pay more money for, or that add-on you have to buy to make everything work.  But there isn't a 'gotcha', everything I needed to manage my business was there and it keeps getting better."
